What compensation is payable for death on an international flight?
Under the Montreal Convention as applied by the Carriage by Air Act, 1972, the airline is strictly liable up to a set limit in Special Drawing Rights and liable beyond that unless it proves the damage was not due to its negligence. Claims must be brought within two years.
