About Akhtars Legalitarian
Our forefathers rendered legal services in the historic city of Munger, Bihar. Their progeny are now headquartered in New Delhi as Akhtars Legalitarian, carrying that legacy forward.
The firm offers a comprehensive range of legal services in India and internationally. With a pan-India and global practice, it acts for renowned corporations and embassies, and has earned the trust and recommendation of the Embassies of France, Libya and Palestine.
The international private clientele comes from the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thailand and China. The firm understands the complexities of operating across jurisdictions and provides tailored legal solutions that bridge them.
Akhtars Legalitarian specialises in commercial matters, including debt recovery, tax advisory, compliance, insolvency and protection of intellectual property rights, alongside a strong litigation practice in the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court in criminal, constitutional and civil matters.
How the firm works
Every matter has a partner responsible for it and a research plan behind it. The litigation research team, led by a research head who has qualified two state judicial services examinations, works through the statutes, regulations and judgments before a pleading is settled, so that what is argued in court is grounded in authority.
The firm keeps its client list deliberately manageable. It would rather do fewer matters carefully than many matters quickly.
Pro bono
The partners carry pro bono caseloads alongside their commercial work: divorce, theft and other matters for individuals who cannot afford representation, education-related matters, refugee protection, and defence work in the Tablighi Jamaat cases of 2020.
Representative engagements and matters, as published in the firm's brochure.
